    Music Ministry

The primary musical instrument in worship is the human voice.  Each of us are ministers of music at our liturgical celebrations as we all lift our voices together in sung prayer.  The Music Ministry is involved in the leadership of these voices, and their musical accompaniment, in sung prayer.  There are many ways to become involved in this ministry.  If you would like to join our Music Ministry or need any additional information, please contact the Parish Office.

    Cantors

Cantors/Leaders of Song welcome the congregation to Mass, announce the music, rehearse new music with the congregation, lead songs during the liturgy while encouraging the congregation to participate, and sing the psalm for the Mass.  If you have a good voice, can read music, and are comfortable singing and speaking before an audience, please consider helping with this ministry.

    Adult Choir

The Adult Choir welcomes all adults of the parish and high school upperclassmen.  The choir practices every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Church, and usually sings at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday Mass.  The Adult Choir also sings at additional Masses for Christmas and Masses during Holy Week.  There are additional groups that provide music at other Masses.  For more information about all the different Adult choir opportunities, please contact the Parish Office.

    Children's Choir

The Children's choir is made up of boys and girls in grades four through eight who are interested in sharing their vocal talents to spread the word of God.  This music ministry servers our parish, our school and reaches out to our community, touching hearts and enhancing liturgies.  The choir sings for the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass several times a month, and it also serves the Church by singing for First Communion, Confirmation, Christmas Eve Mass and Christmas at the Zoo.

    Youth Handbell Choir

Handbell Choirs have been a part of the church's worship for hundreds of years and are a beautiful addition to the music liturgy.  In handbell choirs, each small bell is hand-held and is tuned to play a particular note.  The Handbell Choir for St. Susanna is directed towards the youth of our parish.

    Funeral Choir

The Funeral Choir sings for all parish funerals, providing vocal and emotional support to parish families at the time of their greatest need.  Singers are notified when a funeral Mass is scheduled and attend as often as their individual schedules allow.  All are welcome to participate.

    Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists of all ages are invited to share their talents with the rest of the assembly.  Organists, pianists, guitarists, and solo instruments are used seasonally and on special occasions.
